Delta- 8 THC vs Delta-9 THC
Delta-9 THC is what most people are referring to when they say “THC,” because historically it has been the only available compound in cannabis that causes a high. As of late, though, advancements in extraction technology have allowed for a new THC to enter the market that people love and lawmakers hate.
Delta-8 THC is a naturally occurring cannabis compound almost identical in chemical structure to delta-9 THC. It is around 70% as potent, causes a high, and is produced by converting CBD through a process called cannabinoid conversion.
Why do people like Delta-8?
Some people prefer delta-8 over delta-9 because they feel they are less likely to experience the potential side-effects such as anxiety, lethargy, and paranoia. Others find it more convenient to order online than to go to a dispensary.
What are the benefits of delta-8?

- Pain relief
- Munchies
Although we’re ecstatic many of our customers find d8 helps them in these ways, our carts are not meant for any clinical, or medicinal purpose.
What makes Paz Packs delta-8 cart different?
The biggest thing that sets our vapes apart is that they are full spectrum, so they contain not only delta-8, but also CBD, CBG, and terpenes. This brings a much more balanced, cerebral experience to the table than delta-8 on it’s own.
Other than that, we keep it simple, true to the plant, and transparent. Our cartridges only have two ingredients: CO2 extracted hemp and plant derived terpenes. Every batch is third-party lab-tested so you know exactly what you’re getting.

As a general rule, for beginners delta-8 can last a few days to a week before becoming undetectable, but for more habitual users it can be detectable for anywhere between 30 and 90 days. We recommend playing it safe if you’re worrying about it at all.
Are there any side-effects of delta-8 carts?
Red eyes and dry mouth are the two most common side-effects, so keeping hydrated and using eye drops is never a bad idea. Most negative side-effects of both delta-8 and delta-9 can be avoided by dosing properly, but they do exist and include:
- Rapid heart rate
- Trouble with coordination
- Slowed reaction times
- Anxiety
- Memory loss
CBD has shown promise in lowering the chances of unwanted side-effects from THC, which is a big reason we add it to our D8 cartridges. However, the best way to avoid a bad experience is to limit your intake.
Are delta-8 vapes harsh?
When you inhale, you may feel a tingling in the throat and nose and end up coughing a bit, but this is perfectly normal for any THC vape. To most people, d8 vapes are “harsher” than CBD vapes, but on par with recreational marijuana vapes.
There is also a different kind of harshness that isn’t normal and can come with low quality delta-8 vapes (not ours) which is a burnt, or metallic taste. If you ever taste either of these things, you should stop vaping immediately.
Is Delta-8 safe?
Generally, delta-8 is considered safe however there are some associated risks to know about, most of which are shared with delta-9 THC.
The primary risks are related to people, specifically kids, unintentionally ingesting delta-8, or taking far, far too much. In these cases, the consequences as of now have been similar to delta-9 THC in that people can experience too strong of a high and have a mental breakdowns.
This is why it’s important to be smart with your dosing and keep all d8 products away from children. We opted for child-resistant packaging because of this and always encourage people to start with low doses until they know what they’re doing.
Other risks of delta-8 have to do with it being an unregulated product, which is often taken advantage of by bad actors in the industry. Manufacturers can cut their products with harmful chemicals such as propylene glycol, vegetable glycerin, and more, without disclosing it. More commonly, they can mislabel products and understate the total amount of delta-8 which can lead to people taking too much accidentally.
For this reason, it’s extremely important to buy from a trusted vendor with third-party lab tests that test for solvents and potency for every batch they make (like us).

In one 2010 study, patients were given either a pure THC placebo, or an extract containing both THC and CBD. The patients given both THC and CBD reported having less pain than those given THC only.
